Puppies are not like human beings, as a result they need to learn in other ways. Dogs do not possess people responses, and therefore they don’t operate with the principle of right or wrong. For example, if the Golden Retriever is chasing cars and trucks, you clearly want to stop this behavior before it gets it beyond control. The moment you see him doing this, always prohibit him and let him learn he’s wrong. By doing this, he’ll know that chasing cars and trucks is something he shouldn’t be doing. It might require a bit of time for your pet to understand this, and you’ll need to maintain your ground and continue to correct him if he’s doing something that you don’t like.

This kind of principle is comparable to that relating to praise. When you see your Golden Retriever doing something correct, make sure you praise your pet right away. If you do not praise him quickly but instead postpone until finally he has finished, he’ll presume you are praising him for stopping. To be on the safe side and get the maximum from your Golden, always praise him when he’s acting correctly, and correct him when he is acting in a bad way.

If you take your time and display tolerance with a Golden Retriever, you should not have any issues training him. The training task may possibly need quite a bit of time, although it is more than worthwhile in the long run. Once you have trained your Golden Retriever, he will react to the actions you say, and steer clear of doing the things he was always corrected for.
